Superb Vintage ‘Molnija’ (lightening)
Made in Chelyabinsk (4*4 icon on bridge) Russia in the 3rd quarter 1954.
A true classic of it’s time.
With the high quality CHK-6 Caliber 15 jewel movement, It has a very nice high quality surface finish (Geneva stripes) only found in early molnija models.
Crown set and wind.
Very rare Art-Deco Dial in pristine condition (it is very unusual to find this type of dial in such outstanding condition).
Case measures 48mm X 48mm plus crown and bow, 8mm thick

The Molnija CHK-6 movement was originally a Swiss Cortébert Co. movement (also used in Rolex, cal 618 15j c1940) and was used when the Russian Govt. asked Cortébert Co. to set up a factory in the Ural town of Chelyabinsk in 1947 to supply the military. The CHK-6 is a mechanical hand wind movement known to be robust and accurate (80% hand made).
Comes with complimentary fob chain.
Fully wound will run at least 40 hours, approx.
This watch has been tested and is running very well.
